General Discussion / Model Railroader - April 2007
February 21, 2007, 06:30:03 PM
I received my April 2007 Model Railroader (as well as April 07 Trains) today - 21 Feb 07. This is the earliest I have ever received of any monthly railroad magazine (6 weeks before cover date, and on the 21st of the month). By this time 30 years ago, I would expect March 77 issue to hit hobby shop by the 21 of Feb.

As I looked over this April 2007 edition, a short news item called "Trackplan for Life" got my attention. For those who read MR, what do you think of the story ;)?

Thanks for the response.

Now where is that AMT-125 that EMD proposed a few years back? I have it here somewhere........

Rule question.

Are proposed, or as they say in Car & Driver "concept", locomotives allowed. I think a disclaimer stating the picture is a proposal.

I did a bit of research (ain't research fun!) and I know it is fleet number E4301, a 2 foot 6 inch gauge Canadian Locomotive Works product from 1958. It was photographed at the Esteban Hernandez sugar mill.

If I'm right, I yield to anyone else who has a picture ready.

I have used Trainland/Trainworld in the New York City area as they have a brick and mortar store, an 800 number and a web site.

I use Walthers / Terminal Hobby ONLY when on sale item (Budd passenger cars = $14.00 or lower) and for hard to get item (Detail West detailing parts).

When I need Athearn parts, I have to go direct to Athearn.  ;)

can the centennial ru on 18 turns?

Railroads talk is different from highway talk.
We say "Can the UP Centennial run on 18 inch radius curves?".
