Lube the connectors with a little silicone dielectric grease... that will make it less likely to pull the wires out.

Do what Kevin suggested first.

Can't tell you the number of people who have damaged this connector.

connect the wires before you connect the drawbar, and hook up the longest wire first.

Clearly that was not meant to be denial, he probably just forgot.

no is stated he wanted 1:20.3 standard gauge.

45mm track in 1:20.3 is narrow gauge.

So the loco would probably be as long, but for sure the trucks wider, and I'm no expert on the actual prototype dimensions.

Not everyone would run a 1:32 loco "along side" a 1:20.3 narrow gauge loco...

On the same tracks I get, but alongside, that would really look bad...

So, if he wants a massive "F" scale standard gauge loco, I can understand that, and it would look significantly different from the NG one.

Realize I am reacting to "along side", taking your words literally.

and the scale is 1:20.3?

Something does not sound right... you have a bunch of locos that run fine all the time, no matter what controller.

You have a loco that basically won't run slow on the USAT controller but works fine on the other one.

I think you need to test one of the "good" locos again on the USAT controller...  I think it's the problem.

Bob, have you found a secret cache of Hillmans? My understanding is they have been out of business for quite some time.

You really cannot use the static resistance of a motor to determine it's running current. A motor is a complex situation of inductance and resistance and load.

Test the current draw when running light (on rollers) and actually moving itself, and then with a load.

I believe you want to use a straight DC power supply to the rails, as input to the coach lights and the decoder in the loco.

You would not want DCC of any form to be the input, but you could rectify the DCC output to reasonable DC simply.

It's douibtful the booster would output anything unless given an input signal, but if you already have this unit you can measure the output. If you don't already have one, don't buy it, and just get an inexpensive fixed voltage DC supply, they are cheap, like under $20.

No tooling costs, Kader has the Aristo molds, make some locos.

Then, how about just making a few extra couplers and motor blocks during eggliner production?

That would be easy, and profitable.

Yes, but they are producing Aristo couplers and motor blocks with the Eggliner.  ;D

Also, I'm not sure Bachmann appreciates the size of the market they could tap easily.

In any case I think more people will come forwards with these requests, and this seems to be the only place for consumers to put ideas forth.

Large / Aristo replacement parts from Bachmann?
November 21, 2016, 12:04:15 PM
Now that Bachmann will sell the eggliner, perhaps it could see the way clear to make a few extra Aristo-style couplers and also motor blocks?

I believe there is a large market out there for spare/replacement parts. The "guts" of the Eggliner motor block will service thousands of existing Aristo 2 axle diesels.

Couplers wear, and being able to purchase replacements is another unique market Bachmann can have, since the Aristo-style couplers have unique characteristics to keep from uncoupling, and a LARGE installed base of users.

I suggest those interested read this thread and see pictures with proof of skates, where the recesses molded into the gearbox are shown clearly.

Actually, the rear light should function as a brake light, so it's a little advanced as compared to the normal rear headlight function (as it should be).

The MOROP standard is a bit hard to follow, as for some reason, no "official" English translation is available, and the NMRA is really no help here, as they have had this standard "under review" since 2012.

I'm compiling the information myself, tracing out the connections.
