Honestly speaking, I have no clue on how many cars that thing can pull. I have the overland limited (4-8-4) and it can pull about 20 cars on my flat layout. Guessing the number, I would say your 4-6-0 could probably pull about ten cars, maybe more, maybe less.

Now, about the spring...
I don't have any experience fixing tht kind of thing, so I have no clue.

I know, and that is why I'm planning on taking it to a shop here in town for a little pick-me-up.

I have the overland limited steamer set (description on page 43 in the 2020 bachmann catalog), and it says that there is working smoke. Well, I have ran this thing for about 4 weeks now. I got this set wrapped up in newspaper from my grandpa, so I don't have the box or the instruction booklet to tell me how to work it! What should I do to fix the smoke, since none has come out to of the thing?

p.s.- I seem to have a lot of problems with trains today, don't I?

I live in Oklahoma, and I believe we have a Bachmann shop here in Tulsa (it might be lionel, I don't remember :D), and it is closed until our governor and mayor gives the "ok" to open back up. I sent in a train before the shutdown, and that thing was professionally packed, tracked, and received, only because I delivered it to them!!. I think your train will be alright in a store that is locked up tight. You should get an email or call from them as soon as they are open, and then your train will get fixed. Don't worry though: they should replace the train if it gets lost by their shipping department.

p.s.- I got the 4-8-4 Frisco Meteor steamer (the bright blue one?) replaced by them when it was broken by their shippers here in tulsa (gotta love them delivery trucks, am I right?!?) and that thing costs $900! (#limitededition baby!) They will easily replace a $200 train if it gets lost or broken.

So, I have this loco with DCC already installed, but I need to get down into the inner "guts" of the loco and do a little refurbishing on it. What is the best way to remove this thing without damaging it or taking anything off of it? I feel like I'm overlooking something, but I am not sure.

Trainman, I think that is really cool how you live that close to the old mainline!

Len, I have seen those engines at train shows and I can agree with you about the kids loving them. I have loved those since I first saw them!

jward,
I honestly never thought of that. My grandfather has a ton of that track so I will look into that... just thinking out loud here.

Trainman,
By "chugging" I meant "the engine starts up". I honestly have no clue what I was doing at the time!

I have an Santa Fe F9 diesel loco that will not roll. When I crank up the power to the loco, it will start up and the light will light up, but it will not roll. This also has a DCC installed which is preventing me from viewing the engine. I have also checked the wheels to make sure they are still in working condition and they are. Any suggestions??

Ok, thanks Len. I will look into buying some of that track.

Here's another question about the EZ track: can you take the rails and ties off of the mock-gravel base?

Braxton,
I have found another solution to this problem, even though you found one (about 7 years ago! :D). I have an F9 loco like yours, and mine was doing the exact same thing, although it had barely been used. When I unscrewed the decorative cover off and cranked the power up, I found that one of the connector pieces from the engine to the drive wheels had come apart. When I put this back together (with a lot of trial and error!!), the loco worked like a charm. I know this response is several years late, but I've only had the loco for 4 years.

Keep on railroadin'!!

I think they might. I'm kinda new to bachmann, so i really don't know. What i DO know is that those cars are popular in the model railroading arena, so it is likely that they will.
