Unfortunately, the first thing broken on the tender, and has been out of stock at Bachmann as long as I remember.

Just having fun Joe!   ;D

right, but the blinking is caused by a circuit, which is a modified  monostable multivibrator if I remember correctly.   ;D

The LED does not cause the blinking.

That is what I would have guesses.

Tweetsie? Why the comment that it won't work?

Are you saying that because a gen 5 does not have chuff contacts? (I don't know the answer to that)

The parts issue is not about where they are made, but WHEN they are made.

For virtually all parts (except ones that have such a volume that they justify their own manufacturing run, like wheels) the parts are made at the SAME time as the production run.

So, if something is only produced once in a while, that is the only cost effective time to make "extra" parts.

If you realize this about Aristo, USAT, Bachmann, Kader, and Sanda Kan over the years, you will see that this is true.

The "shrinking" of the G scale hobby means parts will be harder and harder to find. 3D parts are becoming available, but the cost is high since they are much more expensive to manufacture.

For the motor noise suppression board, you really do not want it for DCC either

Agree with Tony / Joe.... also go to Harbor Freight, and get the $5 multimeter (even cheaper on sale) and measure the current drawn, that will tell you right away. You can also use it to check shorted noise caps on that board.

Loco Bill, that link took me to the store and showed parts.

I take a completely different path to manuals.

ALWAYS check the lubrication on ANY locomotive or rolling stock before running.

Most are lubricated from the factory, but "dry" bearings have happened.

You will need to figure out which are track pickup and which are motor on both ends.

I hesitate to give you instructions, since wiring can vary over the years.

Some time with a multimeter, or a friend with electrical knowledge will be needed.

Sorry, no "perfect wiring" instructions are really available.

Be careful with the shay, really tight curves can cause the driveshaft to disconnect, it will turn sharper in one direction than the other.

While the locos can take very tight curves, you will get a bit more wear than broad curves, but Joe is right these locos will run tight curves.

You'll probably need new trucks too

I have always had the best of luck with the installation of Revolution Decoders and Phoenix
sound in my Bachmann K-27's and C-19
I just watched a video of the QSI Titan sound system  ( Bachmann C-19 with QSI Titan ) Check it out.
on Youtube , and I was quite impressed.
The QSI Titan was changed to a QZ-FX
>>>>what is a QZ-FX?

Has anyone tried to install a QSI Titan in one of these Bachmann engines.Preferably the C-19
>>> yep several

If you have what was involved in the installation of it.
>>> seriously, just plug it in, using the proper sound file of course, if you were using track power, since you did not specify... later you talk about batteries, so you would plug it in and disconnect the track pickups... specific wiring depends on the control system you use..

What did you use for a controller and decoder system, For the QSI Titan.
>>NCE and Zimo, I use track power...

My questions up front are,
Can a Revolution system and decoder be used, or do I need another control system, ( eg. Air-Wire ).
>>> the revolution DCC system, or the Air-Wire system will work... several options... pick what you want

Can I use my 18.4 volt 6000 mll amp.
>>> of course

Does the speaker need to be changed.
>>>no

What about the Battery charging system
>>> you wire up the charging system to your preference, most people use a socket that disconnects the battery from the electronics when charging.

and volume control.
>>>> QSI uses F13 and F14 to adjust volume level, plus you can set the mute command to any volume (including zero) plus you can set the master max volume plus you can set the individual volumes of EACH of the 32 sounds.
