Yes, I know  :(
I had it on my schedule to go see Dick Weathersby's layout (http://www.mdlsrs.com/MarylandCentral) then I got roped into NTD. Hopefully, I'll get another chance to see it this year.

Bill's right. The loco came with a connector for 4 prong to tamiya. It was meant to hook up to a 7.2 volt subC stick pack instead of using D cells. I think I have both a backhead and connector in my parts bin. Contact me privately if interested.

It's probably a power supply problem. The Connie has a bigger motor than the Annie. If you only have a starter power supply only putting out an amp or two, you'll need to upgrade for better performance.

Why would the type of battery matter Steve? NiCad and NiMH come in the same sizes with similar capacity. If size is an issue Li-Ion packs are the way to go. I have been using these 11.1v 2.2 Ah Tenergy packs -

each 3.7v cell is about 1.5 x the length and diameter of an AA battery

my k also sqweeks in the 6 1/2 foot curves  and also makes a low ka ka ka in reverse. my k is more than well lubed and this drives me nuts! i think the best we can do is run them till they blow and through them in the lake or make bird feeders out of them. bob.

Maybe that's because it is supposed to run on 8 foot minimum curves!

Thanks Paul. No 7/8's line yet but there will be soon. My main railway is for the 1:22.5-29 trains. I have a bunch of used (and a bit new) brass track (about 150 feet or so). I'll be hosting a track laying 101 workshop later this month. We'll be covering basic free floating ground level track laying and raised track with the ladder support system. I'm hoping this will get more of the club membership inspired to build their own layouts. The workshop will be the start of the 7/8's line, a more rustic backwoods line with more plants and few buildings.

Hi Paul,

Thanks much. I had three models in the contest, the 7/8's rail truck, the boxcab and the station -

It was a fun time at this year's East Coast Large Scale Train Show. There were quite a few of the the new, big and beautiful K-27s out and running. A couple of the K's were equipped with the new RCS plug-n-play RC system that ran flawlessly. It was nice to meet the "Bach Man" in person. We chatted about the new Dogfish Head IPA reefer that is tan and brown to compliment the green one. I know I'll be out looking for one soon.

No way to change Bachmann track diameter. It will kink trying to bend it (it's hollow). You could insert straight sections with the curves to make it bigger. Here's a pic of my indoor holiday set up with Bachmann track on the inside and Aristo 8' diameter on the outside -

One of the tricks the smaller scale modelers use is to place undersized building, people etc in the background to give the illusion that the scene is further in the distance then it truly is.  Why can't it work for us?   But the more important things are, does it look right and are you having fun! ;D

I think this can work with indoor layouts but outdoor most layouts are not viewed from one particular vantage point. My layout is set up to be view from 3 different locations and frequently more that that as you follow trains through the garden. Then again, I'll all about the fun  :D.
