To answer my own question...

After a good deal of searching I found the following info. I want to give props to Tower Hobbies, the store that has this info posted. Tower Hobbies' tech department has done more work in posting details about EZ Track than Bachmann themselves. These guys obviously love Model Railroaders. It looks like you can use thier site to get exact lenths etc... for all EZ Track sections. FANTASTIC :D

#6 EZ Track Switch
INCLUDES: (1) 15-1/2" section of track with left turnout
          (1) 2-1/2" section of straight track

#5 EZ Track Switch
INCLUDES: (1) 12" section of track with left turnout
          (1) 2-1/2" section of straight track

Thanks, I saw the #5 posting but it did't really answer my question.

I still wonder what the straight length for an EZ Track #6 switch is, and what the straight length for an EZ Track #5 switch is.

HO / Re: Even track lengths from #5 Switch

There is a book/mag by ATLAS called "Atlas HO Layouts"; in the back is a great sections that answered a TON of questions I had about track spacing, switching, crossovers, etc... The layouts are OK for some ideas and wiring, but the gem in there is those last 6 pages or so.

Rumor has it that BACHMAN is coming out with a similar book which will specificaly pertain to EZ Track. I have not seen that book out yet but my understanding is that it is eagerly anticipated.

Hope this helps

HO / Switch length

I know the straight portion of a standard ez track switch is 9.

I am wondering what the length of the straight portion of a #5 switch is, and also a #6 switch (if it is different than #5 and / or standard switch).

HO / Double EZ TRACK for the "Your First Track Pack"
December 29, 2007, 10:19:32 PM
I purchased the "BACHMAN DIGITAL COMMANDER" start up set. In addition to that, I got the "YOUR FIRST TRACK PACK" package. In addition to that I got an entire circle of 22" radius. What I am trying to do is build the layout demonstrated in the VIDEO included in the TRACK PACK which is basicaly an oval with an 18" in the center to form a kidney shape. That part is no problem. The part that is causing me some confusion is that I am trying to do it with a double track. I am trying to figure out the angle and or piece that I need to complete the outside track. My geometry is not so hot and I am having some trouble. It all comes together fine when I do simple ovals, I just add the 3" piece in the center of the 18" and it all fits nicely. It is when I try and make that kidney shape by adding the one section of curve in the middle that the problems begin. What size and or curve pieces do i need to complete this puzzle?

Hope this makes sense.

TIA for any assistance
