so after some initial research it looks like the numbers on the turnouts are for how sharp the curve is the lower the number the sharper the curve.

I am as of now still unaware of what the different #'s mean.  I do plan on researching it some though before deciding which ones to get.

Well after a trip to a hobby shop I have replaced the wheelsets with metal ones and it runs smooth as can be now.  Thank you all for the great advice.

After getting to go to a hobby shop that carries train stuff (130 miles away) and looking at the different types of track I settled on Atlas 83 flextrack for the main part of track.  Still need to do some research on the different turnouts before I decide on that part though.

saying it's your railroad and you built it the way you wanted it is not an excuse.  Now saying that it was the best you could do without trying to learn how to do something better that would be an excuse.  If it is the way you want it though it doesn't matter how other perceive it.

I am pretty new at this myself, but one thing that comes to mind is being able to make lakes, rivers, valleys without having to cut your bench work.

It's not a question of if I am going to ballast or not,  I am going to, it is a question of whether or not I am going to use E-Z track when I do my layout.

I watched his video thanks,  his was kato unitrack I assume there is not much difference in it and Ez Track though.  His finished product looked much better than just the roadbed though it seemed kinda sloppy as a finished product.  I am pretty sure though it was caused by the way he applied the glue and not the track itself.  I am quite looking forward to seeing yours Jerry.

I do plan on ballasting whatever track it is I decide to invest in, I'm just worried about the look of the E-Z track as a finished product.

I was wondering if anyone has pics of ballasted Ez track I would very much like to see how it can look as a finished project.

HO / Wheel set
January 01, 2012, 03:36:07 PM
I have a Pacific flyer set.  I want to replace the plastic wheels with metal, I have gone through every paper it came with and while I can find the stock number to replace them with new plastic ones (2967) I can not find the size I need to get for the metal ones there are 2 different choices for wheels in HO scale.  36" and 33"  I have no idea which one I should purchase, I have tried using google to find the answer but it just directed me to vendors of this train.  Any help would be appreciated.  Please keep in mind I am new before bashing me if this is a stupid request.

This is the set. http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=3091
