HO / Re: Spectrum DCC equipped 8-40CW

Mine did the same thing seems the grease in the trucks was too thick so I cleaned that out and lubricated ,adjusted the wheel gauge .If it is too far out it caused a bind when turning .Also I  changed the decoder .The buzz sound when away and it ran a lot better.

Thank you Johnathan ,Tried it and it was a success .Now they hold even when handled.Seems they used something else when it was made that does not work as well.

Curious will it be brought back as a Spectrum series or just standard line with mold on details?

HO / Etched metal grill details
March 25, 2015, 06:27:40 AM
Hello,
I have a older sd45 with the etched metal grills that will not stay on the model. I have used super glue to re-secure them to the dynamic brake ,but when handled barely they pop right off .Have done some research and all I can come up with is the CA type glue that is not doing the job too brittle. Is there anything out there that works that would have some flexibility to it but still hold these parts securely and not be visible?

HO / Locomotive request for Bachmann
March 24, 2015, 10:20:48 AM
Bachmann,
Hello , I really like what I am seeing out of your new product line of diesels and have purchased many since they seem to have the correct per

portions scale width hoods ,flush fitting glass and great paint jobs and print work for a good affordable price.I am from Michigan near Dearborn

.Henrey Ford territory and see that Bachmann has taken a page right out of his philosophy with building a fine product that the average man can

a FORD .I would like to request a scale width hood sd45.I see that you do sell the mechanism in your catalog dcc ready and A member at our

club has the mechanism under his completely kitbashed sd45 shell that is scale width and he said it fit the mechanism with no modifications

and the frame is already set up for a nose light and or marker lights the way it was caste and is very good  .He did not use the old Bachmann

original shell since he models the NW and they have hi hoods that would not fit the Bmann sd45 to modify because it was too tall and too

wide ,but strangely enough the frame accepts a scale width hood.Just like to see what the Bman can come up with a new sd45 since the new stuff look really great. Thanks for the upgrades!

Witch sd 45 do you have the split frame? My friend at our club had a few of these  gems that were dcc ready he added sound to .They are heavy and the truck sideframe supports the weight where the axle goes through the pickup plate.Well the side-frame is plastic with pins that are rectangle shape that slide into the round holes in the gear case .Over time the weight causes the pins to wear since a square peg in a round hole is what you would say a  engineering botch of sorts ,but it works if the load is light .This is not the case.I find it odd that new in the box would do this unless the resin shrinks a little over time since the Spectrum SD45 has been out of production for some time in HO.Maybe time to bring her back since Kato no longer makes them and the others are getting quite expensive for the average guy.I like the Spectrum series .
