Thomas & Friends / Re: The Scottish Twins Thread
February 10, 2011, 06:14:23 PM
I must say they do look good, and look forward to getting them.

Only a few criticisms though (just me being nit - picky ,  I know you cant please everyone and do things perfect) :

Body seems to be a tad too tall, that and/or it is sitting just a little too high above the wheels. I'm not sure if it is that, but something about the front end does look a bit oddly shaped.
The same faces? Bill and Ben got different, surely they could too?

But, I would still be pleased if they were released like that. Bear in mind I think these are just sample models- full production ones will be done soon, hopefully.

That of course is if there ARE two more engines this year- BM may not find it "Finaccially Viable" or something like that to produce another model or two alongside D&D... But you never know...

Luck more than anything, but it may have helped them decide to announce the twins there and then...

no were not late i sent the bachmann D&D petition on jan 14 last year

That's way too late really. Bachmann I'm certain decide their years releases well in advance, so they can check costings, toolings and begin pre-production sample manufacturing. A duck and Oliver petition for now would most likely have an effect on next or the year after's releases.

Thomas & Friends / Release Dates?
December 31, 2010, 09:16:01 AM
I, look a lot of people on this forum, eagerly await the dates when items are expected to be released, and thought maybe it would be easier to have a thread dedicated to the subject that to have to trawl through things the the "Everything Thomas" thread or alike to find posts about when items are expected to be released.

So, to the purpose of the topic. What release dates are known for what items so far?

The only thing I know is that Large Scale James is due in the spring.

Could the Bach-Man give us an estimate as to when other items, such as Donal and Douglas, will be released? It just helps people like me know wether we have time to buy something now and save for them, or wether they are expected to be shipped out soon.

If anyone else knows when things are being released, please do post them here.

I think TheThomasModeller's projects are very good efforts for scratchbuilds, built from pictures of the named character and resources available.

Knuckles there has made some great models too using the kits available, detailing packs etc.

Both are good modellers in their own way in my opinion...

B.O.T - Hank on that link is a good project. I've only ever seen one other done but it does look good!

Remember that that has all the details and alike to make it that price.

If bachmann were to do Ferdinand, they would do simple one-mould cheapo plastic body without all the detailing. Then you'd be in a more affordable price range...

I understand ferdinand, but bachmann will not build an HO scale Bear harbor co. locomotive because of their size and not enough room in the boiler, so in conclusion, Bash and Dash will not be HO scale in the Bachmann future.

sorry dude, just stating facts.

Well, Edward's boiler is quite small thinking about it. Comparing him with B&D they don't look much difference in size.... so..... it's still possible eh?

But I'd much prefer other characters before these guys. Stepney, Stanley etc from older episodes rather than all new characters......

I have managed to remove them and swapped them over for a trial on each other...

Don't keep doing it though, they're very fragile, Ben's face isn't broken, but does now have a very tiny crack....

I haven't seen any yet, but to get one of those over here would cost a lot...
Whereas if I bought another 2 models to convert, I could use the faces off of those, which would just be binned otherwise...

Sounds like the motor has burned up or some wire has/circuit board has gone kaput....

Bachmann should be able to sort that out
