On many railroads, with distiibutive Powere, the lead unit can control mid and end helps using radio and electronic control.  Most rains today with helpers are UNMANNED!

Because of DP units on trains, it would be nice to have dummy units of newer units, like GE Dash units or SD90's.  I could put a dummy unit midtrain and/or rear of my trains.

I think the star pattern is not the same on each side of the motor; they are random.  That's what I have heard from the OGR forum.

Lionel does make track in the O-27 profile in 36" straights.  That's 3 less places where you would lose power via track connections.  L also makes O in 40" sections!

It will do 27 straights, but not the curves.
