Somewhere in the building. Does the door open to a battery holder?

For a displayh layout, DC should be fine. All two rail DC locomotives will operate on 0 - 12V DC, such as put out by the power packs that come with most train sets.

If you are using seperate items, not a complete train set, I would suggest using an MRC Railpower 1370 power pack. It supplies enough current to operate two locomotives in tandem. I have operated Bachmann and Walthers locomotives together with no problem.

Converting 'Hook & Loop' cars with "Thomas" style coupler mountings, without NEM coupler pockets, is a royal pain. It can be done, I did a few for customers when my repair shop was open, but you really have to watch the coupler height and clearances. Look for videos on how to do it before starting if you are going to try it yourself.

The batteries are for the rotating sign. The power supply is for the lights. A 'wall-wart' between 12 and 16 volts, AC or DC, will work for the lights.

Just about anything you can think of. You could use a search engine to look for "Bachmann EZ-Track Layout Plans" to get some ideas what you could do with those pieces.

Wires stripped at both ends will not work. There has to be a 3/16" female spade connector on one end to connect to the EZ-Street track. Since you already have the wire, the simplest thing would be to get some connectors, available at most hardware stores, and crimp one on one end of each wire.

There should be a metal tab at each end of the EZ-Street section. The female quick connect slides onto it.

You can either use these:

Or make your own using 3/16" female spade connectors.

Here's the left side. Right side should be offset 90 degress (quartered) from this.

Now if Bachmann would only add removable jumpers to create the necessary gaps for the 'DCC Only' #6 corssovers to be as easy to use with straight DC layouts.

Wooglin - I think it's an issue with AnyRail. I use RR-Track, a commercial software package, and the combinations I listed all come out parallel.

Intermountain 36" wheels should work.

With that much track you'll need to run multiple power feeds to the track. Quick and dirty way to find out how many is start the train near the power connection. When it slows down or stops, add a feed at that location. Repeat until the speed is constant all the way around. Or you could just add a power feed every 8 feet or so.

Sounds like the drive shaft to the rear truck may have come loose. You can remove the body to check and put it back in place if it has.

Quote from: trainman203 on November 24, 2023, 07:27:56 PMI believe that a cold bottle of Coca-Cola out of a machine was either six cents or $.10 at the time.

Through 1950 Coca-Cola was capped at 5 cents a bottle. The cap was lifted in 1951, after several lawsuits, and almost immediately the price jumped to 10 cents.
