Just for info, I did put the 1k ohm resistor across the rails and did get some information on the family but they were coming up the EZ command section within JMRI. I don't think my layout is lacking power since I have other engines that run without any problems for the most part.

As for the comment for putting it in for spare parts, I would have to say Not when you spend #160 for the engine.

Hello all, I just bought a Bachmann EMD SD40-2 with DCC onboard but when I try to get JMRI to view it I am either getting a 308 where the program doesn't see it or when it does it doesn't see the correct MFG of the decoder and then I get a 254 code plus it goes to ez-command listing. Does anyone know how I not can get it to run but also see the right decoder?

Rich ty, I will keep on working at it. I have another decoder on the way so I might try that one vers the E-Z Command decoder.

HUnt, I just got into DCC last year but was doing my homework before I bought my NCE Power Cab.

As far as my engines one is Factory installed and the other isn't. One thing that does bother me is that I am unable to find out what type of decoder
that the one from the factory is. I have tries reaching out to Barchmann but no answer. I will try setting them address 3 and see what happens.

Could someone please explain to me why I am not able to get two barchmann engines to work together. One decoder is an E-Command and the other is an unknown at this time.
I have tried spreading them as much as 3 FT apart but nothing happens. Both JMRI and NCE will take both consist but only one is working and that is my lead engine.

And on the second part I should have been much clearer and that is the bluetooth working with the E Z app?

My gutt feeling is that it has to be able to see it.

I just bought a NEW 16x25x5mm 1 amp decoder for one of my engines and I was wondering how can I reset all the CV's back to Factory setting?

Also do most barchmann decoders need to have a bluetooth in the programming.
