Had to move my railroads. Now I have a couple of engines and locos that don't run.I know they've been dropped.Everything looks straight, connections look good and tracks and wheels are very clean. Some engines run some don't.One is fairly new with little time on it.An 0-4-0 Switcher 52652.IS THERE ANY WAY TO TROUBLESHOOT THESE PROBLEMS?

Open the locomotive up so you can see the motor and electrical connections. If the motor does not move or try to move when you apply power then, use a volt-ohm meter to check the whole electrical path from one rail throught the motor to the other rail.

One locomotive I have showed no outside signs of being dropped, but one of the motor brush contacts was a little flattened maybe from shipping, once I rebent it to the right place, the loco was happy again.

If the motor moves or tries to move you have mechnical drive chain problems to check for in the gearing and drive shafts.

What manufacturer made these, and in what product  line? How old are they? The quality varies greatly...
