HO Climax, front truck slips

I just got an HO climax and the front truck does not have a positive grip. In other words, the wheels do not turn the same speed as the rear truck. It slips. I thought these are geared. Gears don't appear stripped and the wheels won't move by hand when the loco is held in the hand. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum, I didn't see your name before so I checked your profile, just signed up today! Welcome. And it maybe the weight or if the locomotive has a problem, I would contact the service department, but wait for any other members to post, some have better advice then I do.
