Mr Bachmann,
I am currently searching for a previously released 0n30 ventilated box car with the "Dismal Swamp Railroad " markings. My LHS had one come in a year ago and I missed the purchase. Is this particular car still available and where may I locate one to  purchase  ? Thanks,

Not a current production item. Item No. 27654 was last in the Bachmann 2006 print catalog (i.e. 2006 last year produced).

Thanks for the response, I was afraid of that.  My LHS would order in some if they could get them.  It was a neat road name and a big hit.  Please how about a re-run of them Mr Bachmann!  finding old stock of that item is nill.

  I got mine from The Favorite Spot, a seller on that eBag auction site. He lists his shop as a Bachmann dealer. I have done business with them for over a year now and have never had a problem or issue. Thinking about it, a lot of my On30 stuff is from there....

True, you may have been able to find one for less, but Roy's is a small store, and we need to keep the local hobby stores in business.

  Glad you got your Dismal Swamp car ordered. I, too, am an avid supporter of my local hobby shops, as I spend at least half of my MRR dollars locally. But sometimes you just can't find what you want or need locally. (As an aside, I can almost see the Bachmann offices from where I sit across the river, but most of my local shops don't stock much On30 )
  We sometimes have to look out of area to larger, better stocked dealers. I've noticed a trend in the hobby lately to bash online vendors, and those who shop with them. What we fail to realize is that many of those vendors are established family run shops with brick and mortar stores. Trainland has been selling from the same two locations for over twenty five years, and the LHS I was at yesterday, and will be returning to today, has been in the same spot as long....The only difference is Trainland is 100 miles from me.
  Anyway, I've vented, and will look for that kit, supplies, etc., I've wanted and/or needed locally, and if I can't find it I will look online. The difference is I will deal with MRR specialists and dealers (and there are lots) , not warehouses. Oh yeah, many will be brick and mortar hobby shops.
