We have a Northern Lights large scale. This year it started gradually slowing down to a complete stop in about ten minutes. The voltage at the track appears to be reasonable. I have cleaned and lubed everything I can. Am I correct in assuming that a new chassis is in order? Bachman suggested the model CH-90037, noting that the wheels are red and green. Is there anything else to try before getting a new chassis?

Hi all I am helping this fan via private message, but if some of you have ideas please post them?

So far I feel it is the power supply, another possibility possibility is poorly connected track.

first thing to do might be monitor the track voltage and see if it changes when the loco slows...

if it drops, then check for higher current (overload / motor issues) when it slows.

Voltage stays ok, then would suspect the loco, maybe carbon buildup between commutator segments, severely worn brushes, etc.
