Reversing streetcar inconsistent

I set up the reversing streetcar using 4 of the included track pieces plus the end track piece. The trolley operates fine going back and forth for a few runs, but then will totally stop on the end track piece after 4-5 runs consistently.  I can pick up the trolley and move back to any other track and it will resume, but inevitably stops again after 4-5 runs.
Any clue why?

Well, if it only stops on the end track, then clean up the connections on that track and the one before it.
