Bachmann 2-8-0 led

I recently purchased a new 2-8-0 chassis assembly . It is fitted with an Led headlight. My previous ones have normal incandescent lamps . Would these LEDs be ok with 12 Volts or do I need to connect a resistor in line? I have a wow sound decoder fitted with 12 v output .

You need a 1K resistor. I have used a 1/8 watt resistor. I had many 1/8 watt in my junk box. Many use a 1/4 watt resistor.
