I have a brand new fresh out of the box "The Night Before Christmas" G Gauge train that I just put up.  It runs fine for 10 minutes, but then it starts to slow and eventually stops.  After it stops, you need to force the wheels to move again before it will start to roll. It's like it's over heating and seizing.  But the locomotive is ice cold, no smell or indication that it's over heating.  I assume that this is not normal, am I wrong?  Or would I be better off returning this unit for a new one?
