the galloping goose

I have an issue my goose won't run and I am not sure what the switch in the back is for. I have had it a long time and there are no instructions. Seems like there are five settings, I believe one is forward and one is back. I would like to know where I can get info about oiling and greasing and general maintainence. Please help as I am a new railroader and am trying to learn as much as I can. Thank you in advance.
