removing weight in heisler tender

I am thinking I may need to remove the weight block from the tender of the Heisler to add a Revolution receiver and speaker there.  I can't actually spot that weight on the diagrams provided.  Is it glued in place and can it be safely pried off without damaging the bottom shell of the tender?
