Help, Help. Help. Accesories to power control

I had purchased the White Christmas N gauge train set for my Dad ( who by the way is 83 years old ) I also sent along the warehouse with steam whistle add on. How do you connect the whistle accessory to the power pack? Does the power control for this train set have a seperate connect location for accesories The problem is he is in Illinois and I am in Texas and I am not familiar with the set, I just bought and shipped as a gift. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks  Sam
