again my question is about turnouts. This time its about wiring. I am using the Bachmann ez-track remote turnouts. The green wire from the track to the switch is and only about 2 feet long, if my layout is on a 4x8 and I have my turnout at one end and my switch is at the other with my control center I need more wire. Since one end of the wire is connected to the track and the other end has a plug that connects to the switch, I'm wondering. do they make an extension or do I cut the wire and splice in the middle

Len

Bachmann makes an extension cord: http://shop.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=879_604_782_784&products_id=2544

Or you can cut the existing cord and splice in your own extension.

Len
If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.

Thanks Len. I'll look for the extension if needed I'll splice it like you said. If at first you don't succeed throw it in with the spare parts. Have you tried splicing

Len

Yes, I generally splice. I keep a couple of spools of this around for doing it: https://www.walthers.com/three-conductor-hookup-wire-22-gauge-23

I use the black for 'common', center wire of the Bachmann cable, green for 'normal route', and read for 'diverging route'. Just flip the plug on the controller if 'normal' and 'diverging' aren't where you want them.
