Just got a deal on Spectrum g scale boxcar, but no couplers.  I want body mounted.  Which ones to order?  Any special instructions about how to install.  Any advice appreciated.

Howard,

If you can't find the Spectrum couplers on the Bachmann parts site, you can substitute Kadee 'G' couplers. The 830 box should mount directly where the Bachmann box mounted. And an FYI, the Kadee coupler will mount directly in the Bachmann coupler box.

Hope this helps.

Howard,

As I recall the Bachmann Spectrum couplers come in two types standard and drop couplers.  If all your cars are Spectrum the standard coupler is is used, but if you have both the Spectrum and the Big Hauler 1:22.5 cars. installing the drop coupler on a Spectrum car will allow it to couple with the truck mounted couplers on the Big Hauler cars.

This was design plan Bachmann used to allow for the inter-operability of the two different scale cars.  Both the standard and the drop couplers are body mounted, so no worry there.  If you are using only Spectrum cars then you will want the standard straight couplers and not the drop couplers
