Hey Mr. Yardmaster! I was wondering if it would be possible for you to turn out some South Pacific Coast freight cars. I saw a Bachmann SPC boxcar for sale on Ebay tonight and it got me to wondering if it would be possible for you to make similar cars in G scale for all us SPC fans out here. You are still making the SPC Annie 4-6-0 in G scale (I have the Spectrum SPC 4-4-0 in G scale and am thinking about adding the 4-6-0 SPC Annie to my collection)and all we have for it is a couple of Jackson Sharpe passenger cars.
Some SPC freight cars would add a little variety and would also be a nice addition to your lineup of G scale offerings! All you'd have to do is to make some decals and slap them on already existing rolling stock that matches the colors of the SPC!
Thank you.

Hi to all the SPC fans out there.

There is more SPC out there than you might think. Bachmann produced SPC items in both 1:22.5 and 1:20.3.

Here is a list of what I have in my database:

90096   SPC   Set   1993   ^ Set   South Pacific Coast   P
81095   SPC   21   2000   ~ Loco   4-6-0, 10tn aniv, South Pacific Coast Ver 5   P         S
81397   SPC   3   2000   ~ Loco   4-4-0, South Pacific Coast   P   1      Spectrum
81493   SPC   12   2001   ~ Loco   2-6-0, South Pacific Coast   P   1      Spectrum
91604   SPC   22   2011   ~ Loco   4-6-0 Annie  South Pacific Coast            Ver 6 Metal Gears
90096SL   SPC   21   1993   ~ Loco   4-6-0, South Pacific Coast   P
88098   SPC   1516   2006   Box Car   1:20.3 South Pacific Coast   N   1   A   Fn3 Finescale
93328   SPC   424   1994   Box Car   South Pacific Coast   P         Ltd Edition 1200
93528   SPC   107   1994   Flat Car   w/logs, South Pacific Coast         L   Ltd Edition 1200
88296   SPC   1221   2007   Gondola   Pacific Coast 1:20.3 Low side, with side doors   p   1      Fn3 Finescale
89193   SPC    None   2000   P Baggage   South Pacific Coast   P         Not Lighted
89192   SPC   17   2000   P Combine   South Pacific Coast   P         Track Power Lights
90096SC   SPC   17   1993   P Combine   South Pacific Coast   P         Battery Lights
89191   SPC   44   2000   P-Coach   South Pacific Coast   P         Track Power Lights
89194   SPC   41   2000   P-Obs   South Pacific Coast   P         Track Power Lights
90096SC   SPC   41   1993   P-Obs   South Pacific Coast            Battery Lights
93426   SPC   923   1994   Tank Car   South Pacific Coast   P         Ltd Edition 1200

Many SPC items were not the hottest sellers or more items would have been introduced.  The 90096 South Pacific Coast set was part of the Bachmann "Golden Classics" series and to me was a great looking set.   In 1994 Bachmann released many items as limited editions of 1200 pieces.   SPC was represented by a boxcar, flatcar, and tank car noted above.  When some of the limited edition items proved very popular, Bachmann rereleased them in later years.  In the case of the SPC items only the boxcar was re introduced in 2006.

Only the flat car and the Tank Car remain as limited editions items.   So SPC fans who can get there hands on them will have a truly rare item.   So happy hunting!

Probably the best way to get SPC items would be to get undecorated cars and have Cederleaf Custom Decals make you some decals and letter them yourselves.

Very good info. Thank you Bill! I still hope we'll get lucky and Bachmann will re-release the SPC cars you listed. That would be cool!

Ok. I bought the one on Ebay for $45.00 with the shipping included. I did also find a boxcar made by Delton for $78.00 but I passed on that in favor of the one from Bachmann!!

You may want to check with dealers - there are still a lot of these items out there to be had.

Thanks Yardmaster. Most dealers will price what ever they have out of my price range, so I'll just have to keep my eye on Ebay and hope more SPC rolling stock will appear for sale on that site.
Take care!
