I have  Baldwin Big Hauler Part number 91242. I have no instructions and would like information on what steam Oil to use and where to put it, I have found the switch in the front of  the engine and have put 420 steam oil down the chimney but nothing happens. Am I missing something ?
Also the rear light on the tender does not come on when reversing, any ideas ?

Thanks,

Joe Zullo

Your loco is an older model. The smoke unit is likely burned out (common) and the back light was never operational on these older models.  :-\

Hi,

Your Locomotive came out in 1989, and did not have an operating rear headlight, as for the smoke unit it is most likely burned out, but it is also possible to flood it by putting in too much fluid.  Any brand of smoke fluid works, and it is best to start with n o more than 10 drops. Also the smoke does not work at slower speeds and at higher speeds take a while to get going.

Here is a link to the instructions:

Have fun,

Thanks, that sorts that out, I could have flooded the smoke pot, I will try and dry it out.
