Suggested safe radius for the On30!Shay

I have a On30 Shay and am trying to figure out what the suggested usable track radius is for the Shay. The problem seems to be right turns moving forward. The radius I've tried seems to be making it de-rail as the truck binds moving into the curve. Suggestions, please!

18 inch minimum radius is suggested for the On30 Shay.
