Hi! Bach man

Now that the SAm's set is out I am wondering if Boscov's or OSH will have a special set this year?

The Sam's set does not appear to have an Annie. Bach man can you confirm?

For those that keep track of such things the Sam's Club set Bachmann Item number is 90061 according to an EBay source.

Hi, Bill!
I don't recall doing a LS set for Boscov's, but I did do an OSH set.
None were Annies.
Have fun!

Thanks!  Any DEtails on the OSH set.  Passenger, freight, special  cars?

Last years OSH set was the same set from the Silverton Flyer set only all cars were lettered for OSH. Not a bad looking set overall.

All of these Xmas type sets have been Generation 5 locos, same engine as the Annie only with plastic siderods, thats the only major difference.

Any news on this years OSH set?  Freight? Passenger? Mixed? ???

minor correction..
Generation 5 isnt the same as an annie except for the siderods,
there is also a different motor.

the Annie should be refered to as "Generation 6"
gearing is the same as Gen 5, but a different motor,
as indicated here:

http://www.girr.org/girr/tips/tips1/big_hauler_tips.html

So because this years Christmas set Big Hauler has plastic siderods, it is clearly a "Generation 5"

Generation 5 = most current gearing, but plastic rods.

Generation 6 = Annie = same gearing as Gen 5 with an upgraded motor AND all metal main rods, side rods and valve gear.

2004, 2005 and 2006 Sams Club Christmas set contained actual Annies. This is the first year in 3 years that they have not had actual annies.

Boscovs has also had a few Christmas sets with annies in the last few years.
