Need help with sound control on 3 truck Spectrum Shay

First, let me say I am very new to this hobby. I have a 3 truck Shay that works just fine and the sound is great. Is there a way I can control the sounds when the engine is running? The language in the posts on DCC confuses me because most seem to assume you already know how these things work. I would like to be able to control the sound without having to stop or start the engine. I hope I have explained myself and someone can help me.

What brand of DCC controller are you using?

The instructions are at the below link.  Take your time reading them.  Absorb the basics of DCC with sound in Bachmann locos.

Bachmann uses SoundTraxx sound decoders but you cannot buy the ones that come in the Bachmann locos.

Google the different terms and put any links of interest in Favourites. You can build an extensive list of info that is always at your finger tips. Remember, basic Training.
