What prototype was used for developing the new 18' cars?

Bob Brown wrote about these in the Jan/Feb Narrow Gauge & Short line Gazette.He said they are modeled after the early Billmeyer & Small freight cars. If you don't get this magazine then I would suggest it as a worthy investment in modeling narrow gauge.
