Hi, Mr. Bach-Man (or any of your helpers)
I want to buy the K4 Pacific with DCC and I would LIKE to have it with sound. Spectrum apparently doesn't make a DCC/Sound version (am I correct here?) so I'm wondering how much of a hassle it is to install sound in the K4 with DCC. I'm a low-talent soldering person but love plug-and-play. Any suggestions about possible decoders/speakers combos? Thanks.

Thanks, Jerry: it's out of stock there. Maybe someone on the board has some ideas for a simple sound solution.

There are a couple of us on here who have recently done this. Soundtraxx TSU-1000 medium steam is a good decoder choice. Can get a bit awkward fitting a speaker in the tender, but it is possible with some surgery. We both soldered, but Soundtraxx do a harness to an 8 pin plug to make it plug and play. You'll still have to solder the speaker wires though. Give it a go, I was no solderer until I gave this a try, a bit of practice and it's not as hard as it would seem.
