Stepney the 'Bluebell' Engine

#135
Paxton is nearly done, just needs a face, which i am waiting on, since the wooden one is too small to fit.

Lines were abit hard to do at first, but took careful time to make them accurate. ^^

Also, here are some of my other Diesels and Steamies.

Daisy:

Derek:

The Diesel:

Old Stuck Up:

Boco:

Bluenose:

Wilbert:

Sixteen:

Some of the models have/use nameplates and numbers i printed myself since there arn't any available as transferes, but i don't really care too much about that, i enjoy making my own bits for my models, a good friend of mine makes his models using printed designs for some of his scratchbuild models, and they have been very good use. :)

He has inspired me to use these designs for my own scratchbuild projects later in the year.

Stepney, my man, I am very impressed by the quality of your models. Lining looks good on Paxton, a little 'wobbly', but I would NOT have the patience to do it as well as you have.
The other diesels look great too; I love Daisy and Derek, thought I think Daisy needs a brakepipe on her front(correction, two pipes) bufferbeam to complete her look. Other than that, she's marvelous.

D261 and Stuck Up look good, can't help feeling the latter's face looks too kind for the character, but the rest of the engine looks good. I see you've updated BoCo's face, (filled in the mouth), very nice, and your Steam engines look great too. Wilbert's my personal favorite out of the three, but you've done well with all your models. =)

And Church, the coaches are coming along great.

Some models still require abit of work, but i appreciate the feedback all the same, and hope to get all the models up to date and accurate soon as. :)

Thank you, i will keep you all posted on Paxton's progress along with my other new projects!

I did find a model at the Alexander Palace model show in London that will be suitable to do Belle, so that is also something to look forward to, and thanks to my friend, Skarloeyfan, i now have drawings for another special project, which again, will be announced soon via the blog if not here.  8)

Cheers for that. :)

Belle will be started at the weekend, if not sooner, I've bought a few new items today which will come in handy with making her, so be sure to check back soon for new work in progress pictures. The donor model is a Hornby Dublo 4MT Class 2-6-4T which has been cleaned up here and there, and runs nicely.

I did consider buying a Bachmann 4MT Class 2-6-4T, but i don't see the point in spending hundreds of pounds on decent looking models just to turn them into Thomas models, though i am a British outline collector myself, it just doesn't seem right to fork out for models that look as good as they are.
Most of my models i have used for my projects, are second hand, most of which are clean and well looked after, and usually good bargain prices at the collectors fairs, ranging between £30 to £50 at max.

One tip i will give modellers, is to look around the stalls first before buying what you first lay your eyes on for a project, sometimes you will find that other sellers will usually knock down the price from what they are asking for it. Some sellers will say that they have tested the models, but it's best to always double-check before walking away with what you have bought, I've found this in the past with some sellers, and most models don't work. Most sellers now will test the models you purchase before you walk away with them, i did this with my Arthur, and the guy was more than happy to show it working on some track with a controller, so that i knew it worked.

Outstanding! I quite like your model of Wilbert, 16, and Bluenose. TUGS reference perhaps?

PasqualeCS96

I thought Bluenose was from the Railway series for some strange reason

Bluenose is indeed a TUGS reference. :)

Modeled him on a Hornby LMS Class 8F locomotive, painted in Wartime blue with yellow and black loco lining, he was heavily weathered with a few rust patches, to indicate work worn conditions from sea salt in the air. He is a fantasy character, not a TV or RWS one.

I have made a couple more fantasy engines, they just require faces at the moment.

Reginald is one of those engines, isn't he? I seem to remember the character appearing in your old series..

How many other Fantasy engine characters do you think you have?

Rai1994

Thomas will always be my Number 1 favorite tank engine!

Would using Paxton's Take-N-Play model face work? :-\
Thomas + Bachmann = the True Thomas Experience.
