--Hi all, while I am not new to model railroading I have recently aquired a G scale
Bachmann Big Hauler train set through a death in the family. I believe it is a standard 45mm track, yellow/black steam locomotive and same color tender. It is in excellent condition however I noticed the headlight does not work and there appears to be a battery compartment in the tender accessible from the top. The box says it is sound capable, however I see nothing that would produce sound.
--So I am looking for the owners/user manual.  ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Also wondering if any of these Bachamnn locomotives are weather resistant?  Actually it looks exactly like the Durango & Silverton set by Bachmann

Gonna get blamed for it...you might as well do it!!

If you have the box top yhere will be a Bachmann number on it which will start with 900 and two more numbers.  That will allow us to provide better help if you can tell us what it is.

I will be away from my resources for the next 7 days, or I could provide the link to the online instructions.  If no one else does I will post it nwhen I get back.

In the meantime the sound speaker is on the tender floor,  a 9 volt battery in the hatch powersthe sound system.  There is a volume control underneat the tender floor,  Connect the plug or plugs from the tender to the loco sockets.   f you want smoke the switch for that is in the smokebox door on the front of the loco. do not turn it on without fluid in the stack.

The loco and cars are suitable for outdoor use but the track is not.

Hopefully  this will get you started!!

Good luck, and enjoy your new train!!

If you have an older set part of these instrictions may not be correct.

again hope it helps.
