Decoder problem

I put the Tsunami 750 in the Norfolk and Western but it now is running with a jerky motion. It starts and stops starts and stops. The sound seems ok but the running is eratic. I didn't add the capacitor will this help? Anyway to test to see if the decoder is in ok? Ron

You must add the capacitor with any sound install.

Added it and doing fine. Now for aother loco that I can add a micro tsunami to. Ron
