New to the forum. I have purchased two second hand locos, Ivatt 4MT's Moguls. Both look as through they have had little use.
They was bought at different times at different outlets. Surprisingly both had the part 575-024 the front steps missing. My question- The running numbers are 43050 and 43019. They run completely different. On take off one creeps then goes to normal speed, the other speeds off with no slow motion movement. Did Bachmann issue two gear sets? Thanks.

As the Ivatt 2-6-0 Class 4MT was only produced by Bachmann UK you'll need to find a UK Yahoo group to answer your questions.

Go to Yahoo and look for "L.M.S."  or "British Railways" groups.

The Ivatt class 4MT (MT = mixed traffic or "dual purpose in North American)  was used in all regions of British Railways except the Southern Region.

I believe that the front steps were to be applied to the locomotive by the purchaser of the model as adding the steps made it impossible for the model to negotiate toy train curves of 22 inches and 18 inches radius.

Best of luck.

Thanks very much to you both for your information.
