30 degree EZ track doesn't fit

I just purchased the N-scale EZ track 30 degree crossing and is does not fit with other EZ track.  The ballast of the joining tracks interfere with each other.  Are the special joining tracks for this, or do I need to manually cut a corner of the ballast on the joining tracks?

Yes, you will need to manually trim the ballast off the adjoining tracks.
