EZ Command and Power Source?

Am I safe to assume that the new ez command is really just a controller for all train activity and you still need a power source for the set itself, or is this the power source?

If I need a power source, anyone have a recommendation (Model Number) on what  power supply or transformer would be best suited to run 2 trains and some light scenery activity, etc.  Must be DC/DCC current for it will be used on ON30 or HO size scale trains... Thanks Mike .

The E-Z Command only puts out DCC, and while it can run one DC loco, it is not always the best idea because it can cause the loco to overheat. The E-Z command does not have AC outputs for accessories, so you would likely need a separate power source for turnouts and lights. The E-Z Command is a power source, it will run 4 DCC (not DC) HO scale locomotives as long as they don't have sound. If a DC loco is added to the equation it cannot run as many locos because the DC loco draws more current. Your options are using a standard power source that has two speed dials and thus 2 DC outputs and 1 AC output or Using the E-Z Command and wiring it in parallel and connecting it to both sets and then using a second power source for accessories.
