How-to Replace Hook and Loop Couplers

HELP!!!
I purchased a Thomas engine yesterday for my son and when I got home, I realized that it has what I think are called Hook and Loop couplers. Is there any way to replace/change/convert this over to a traditional knuckle or NMRA (horn hook) coupler? Does Bachmann offer any sort of conversion kit so Thomas can pull rolling stock other that what is offered in the Thomas & Friends line?
Any help would be greatly appreciated (by me and my son)...

Bachmann does not have a conversion kit, but Thomas still can pull cars with knuckle coupler. Just take the springed coupler and set it in the knuckle coupler.
