N gauage Amtrak

Have an Amtrak E60CP and when I turn on the power, all the lights in the engine and cars come on but the engine does not move in either direction. What is myproblem?

Check the motor.

also check to make sure you hooked the track to the DC and not AC.

Received 2 replies and thanks. One of them was to ck the motor. How do I get the shell off as I tried this before I made the first posting.
