PCC trolley running on aurora model motoring track

I am interested in modifying a PCC trolley to run on the old model motoring slot car track.  Has anyone tried to do this and succeeded?  I have some ideas on how to do this and would like to know if anyone has tried.

I have figured out how to modify the PCC to run on the model motoring track to a degree.  I installed thick traction tires on the wheels and a guide pin on both trucks.
It really looks great running in an urban landscape.  I still need to figure out a good power pickup system to get power from the track.  It is now using a 9V battery until I figure that out.
