I have a G Scale Big Hauler without instructions. Where do the batteries go? Please advise.

Most of the time, the batteries go in the tender. Almost all tenders that hold batteries have removable coal. Try looking in that area first.

The batteries DO NOT go in the tender.  If you look inside the cab of the locomotive you will find that the back of the firebox opens up and the batteries go in the fire box, I do not remember the size batteries.  They also  came with a plug to allow you to  use rechargible battery packs as well.

Have fun with your train!!

The locomotive takes 6 D-cells in the boiler.  Push the back head in and up to remove.  Do you have the radio transmitter for it?  It takes a 9 volt rectangular alkaline.

Unlike later 4-6-0's, the R/C Big Haulers used the battery in the boiler for the sound card.
