GE 44 Coupler Conversion

I find the coupler difficult to mate with either the Atlas or the Micro-Trains offerings.  I filed some of the material off the back of the casting to have it slip into the others easier, but would like it to work better. I contacted Micro-Trains and there isn't a recommendation.  Via email I was told that they would have to make something.

Any suggestions?
