I have been looking for any information on this electric train set item # 90038 and was not able to locate it even among your list of train sets.  Do you have any information on this item?

It is in it's original box and has not been taken out.

Thank you,
Holly

Is it that set? If so, it may be worth up to $75 since it would no longer be under warranty. Or if it is not that one it must be pretty old and would probably be worth considerably less. This is because older Bachmann engines do not run as well as newer ones, which run pretty good for the most part, and have improved considerably over the past 25 years or so, starting with the formation of the spectrum line.

Holly,  Sorry I did not see this sooner,  Your set 90038 was a special limited edition set made for sale at the Costco warehouse store in 2000. It is a G Scale set, or Large scale as used in this forum. It is a very nice set and the locomotive has the very latest smooth running version 5 chassis.  It was never in the Bachmann Catalog.

If you sell this on Ebay be sure to sell it in then G Scale catagory.

If you sell it as a set and point out it is new and has the latest version 5 chassis,  you could get from $100 to $150.  In better times I have seen the set sell for as much as $200.

The best thing you can do is break up the set and sell the pieces seperately.  The engine should bring about $70 to $85,  The  two passenger cars should bring $20 to $30, and the track and transformer about $18 to $26.   All this assuming you have 100% feedback.

Or yoiu could run it arounfd the Christmas tree and enjoy it.
