just saw on ebay a atsf 2-4-2...can this be an "early period" bachmann engine or a conversion from a 4-6-0?

Loco Bill Canelos

Hii Maxxx,

The seller does not know what he has ::) :(.  The number 19 on the cab identifies it as the Bachmann Union Pacific 2-4-2 with tender 8).  It is a woodburner and has a wood load in the tender.  Missing is the tender which is why there is the hook on the back of the loco to connect it to the tender.  It was in Set 90014 and also sold seperately.  It first came out in 1989 and was in the catalog until 1993.

It was not the grearest runner, but in my opinion was a real looker!!   Ask the seller to look for the tender!!

Good luck!!!

Thats called the Bachmann "columbia" 2-4-2..
long out of production..
they were never good runners..rather primitive by todays standards..
not terribly in demand..
I wouldnt pay more than $40 for it..especially since its missing the tender.
but yes, they do look nice!

here is some info on the loco:

Dear Maxx,
They were also infamous for gear failure, so keep that in mind...
Have fun!

Maxx,

Just for your information, the Aristo C-16 was originally a Delton C-16, a very nice looking loco, which has a mechanical dis-reputation and is 1:24 scale.

I have repaired the Delton and two versions of the Aristo Drives, but not the current drive.
