I just started with model railroading with n scale track  (not EZ track), and the setup is DC not DCC.
my question is apparently so basic, I could not find an answer on the internet.

I have 2 turnouts and I recently bought 2 remote switches (Bachmann). my question is:
How do I wire the remote. the turnouts all have red, black and green wires. I know the black is the power lead, which I attach to the power controller.

I am a week and a half into this new hobby, so if you could give me the answer such that a 5 year old would understand, I would appreciate
thanks

This shows the standard arrangement used by Atlas and others. The black wire is a common return. The red and green wires control the two solenoids in the switch motor.
