sound modules interchageability

Are the plug in 2-6-0 steam sound modules compatible with existing steam engine ie. shay climax Forney?  will they plug in to the existing dcc equipped hardware?  Or will there have to be wiring changes?

No, they are locomotive and sound specific.
There are, however, many sound decoders (not plug in modules) available.
