Alco S4 Switcher

I'm still "old school" in that my layout is still DC. I'm looking at an S4 and would like to know how it operates at low speed on DC. Any suggestions or remarks or recommendations?

Nicely.  Also nicely detailed, relatively quiet too.  Not as heavy as the Austrian or P2K S models.  P2K S1 has extremely slow performance.

It has a smooth and powerful 3 pole can motor with dual flywheels and geared well for low speed switching ,but not to low that it could not be used on the main line as a helper as an example.
