Spectrum 2-8-0 N-Scale DCC loco (84552) Intermittent stopping

I have an issue with a Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 N-Scale DCC loco (84552).
I am trying to run it with a digitrax zepher xtra DCS 51.
The issue is that when I run it, it runs for 5-10 seconds and stops. I have cleaned all the contacts including the track and it does the same thing. I have even turned it upside down and using small alligator clips attached the power directly to the wheels therefore eliminating the track all together and the issue remains. Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks

I have to assume your other locos run just fine. If that is correct, return the loco for a replacement. Instructions for returning are in the Parts page.
