Shay hesitating

Hi all,

I've just received one of Bachmann's shays. It runs smoothly, except that it seems to give just a single jerk when running. This is more pronounced in reverse than when going forwards. Is this something that will even out with running, or am I looking at cracked gears?

Dear Danny,
Keep an eye on it as it breaks in.  If it doesn't smooth out, call service.
