Bachmann HO EZ track wye question

When trying to snap on any track to either branch
of the wye, (#5 wye HO E-Z track), it appears that
one has to cut or trim away the molded roadbed from
one or another of the tracks to make both fit.  Is this
correct or m I missing a differently molded set of
connecting tracks?

Usually turnouts are packed with 2-1/2" straight track .  If you turn over the piece, you will see score lines on the bottom of the roadbed .  If you remove that piece on the scoreline ,  you will have the necessary clearance to insert the track .  Good Luck J2.
